Let Freedom Ring

Today is July 3rd 2009. Tomorrow we will celebrate our nations Freedom. This is a celebration of past, present, and future generations that has deep meaning when you stop to consider what the cost have been to achieve it. I know the traditions we all participate in while we celebrate usually consist of pool parties, grilling out with friends, popping fireworks etc.. and these are all in good fun and we enjoy the time off from work; but don't forget to take a brief moment of that time and just simply reflect and be thankful for all the things we get to enjoy in our country that others do not because of the sacrifices of brave men and women across our nation from years past to the present. These are the true heroes of our time.

Hollywood has made us think that heroes are the guys who carry the biggest guns, drive the coolest cars, have the dark shades on while they fight, curse like a sailor while they still have a lit cigarette in their mouth, you get the point. Although it's always fun to watch movies about those kinds of characters, don't let it ever mislead you to think that this is what a hero is supposed to be made of. A man who laces up his boots and arms his weapon to get ready to take down a terrorist hideout in the desserts of Hell and doing it while his heart is racing with uncertainty are the people who deserve our up most respect and honor... and they do not wear cool sunglasses and leather jackets and have a director sitting in a chair waiting to give them a new take with 15 different angles to get the best shot to make them look cool and make it happen with dramatic music and fake blood. My deepest and most sincere wishes are with those men and women who do their duty for our country whether they want to or not just because they know deep down if they don't, then who will. To those people I boldly and thankfully say Thank you and let Freedom keep ringing !!!
